Wood Fire Stove Installation Liverpool | FAQ

“I have taken out a gas fire, can I connect a wood burner or solid fuel stove to the gas liner?”
Unfortunately, no you can’t. The steel a gas liner is made from just won’t withstand the temperatures a flue coming from a wood burner or solid fuel stove will reach. The gas liner would need to be removed and replaced with a solid fuel liner.

“What is the difference between a woodburning and multifuel stove?”
Wood burning stoves have flat fuel beds, because wood burns most effectively on a flat bed of ash with air for combustion coming from above. Multi fuel stoves are fitted with grates, as coal and smokeless fuels need to burn on top of the grate, with air entering from beneath the fire.
